The first I heard of hot composting came from Andrew’s Instagram post with a picture making reference to his steaming pile.  Well that got my attention!  I am a nurse by trade so always take great delight in jokes around bodily functions.  However upon reading further I discovered he was talking about composting.

So what is this and how does it work?

He pointed me in the direction of this website and it was here that I gained more of an insight around steaming piles.  The explanation is clear and easy to understand so go over and check it out.  The upshot is that you can have compost broken down and ready to use in 18 days.  It is labor intensive, however I have seen the results and they are very impressive.

Do you hot compost this way?  Do you have another method of hot composting that works for you?  Feel free to post a link in the comments.
